My mission as an artist is to redefine history from silenced voices, elevate inclusion and love, while exploring the depth of multi media through forms of bricolage. From formal techniques to abstracted explorative practices, I engage past and present history to create insightful narratives that question societal norms. I am inspired by my direct circle as well as those who come before me and beyond me. My process includes thorough research that manifests in collaged paintings, merged with oil to emphasize the depth of the work. The emerging subject and background highlight the importance of narrative within history. As certain subjects proceed forward and others recede backwards, I invite the viewer to acknowledge the conversation between what we as a society choose to promote and that we do not.
